Nakhchivan has come under Armenian fire in the recent weeks

Azerbaijan has built defence fortificaitons in strategic heights in its Nakhchivan exclave, Defence Ministry’s press service reported on August 19.

As part of these fortification measures, the living conditions of the military units in the Tekagaya and Soyuk regions, which are the main defense fortifications of the autonomous republic, have been significantly improved.

The ministry said that consistent measures are being taken for army building in Nakhchivan, adding that as a result of the reforms carried out in the field of army building, exemplary service conditions have been created in our units and units located in high mountainous conditions.

“Nakhcivan Autonomous Republic plays plays a great role in defending the borders of the republic and strengthening the military potential of the country in general. Nakhcivan will always be adequately defended,” the ministry said.
