Azerbaijan has broken through the five million COVID-19 vaccines as the number of COVID-19 patients has started to grow since the easing of lockdown in May.
As of August 4, Azerbaijan, the nation of ten million, has vaccinated 5,178,428 citizens in the nationwide vaccination campaign that started on January 18.
Of vaccinated residents, 3,013,620 have received the first dose of the jabs and 2,173,808 have received the second doze up until now.
Azerbaijan has so far registered 346,878 COVID-19 cases and 5,039 coronavirus-related deaths.
The government loosened COVID-19 restrictions starting from May 31, lifting the mandate to wear face masks in public places and opening Baku metro. Another stage of lockdown easing entered force on June 10 and implies opening of gyms, recreational centers, beaches, shopping malls and places of worship.
