Azerbaijani judoka wins championship in Orlando

National judoka Zaur Jalil aka Azerturk won a gold medal in the 32nd US Open Judo Championships in Orlando, Florida.

“The 32nd Open Judo Championships in the United States 2021 is an international competition involving professional athletes worldwide. My rivals included strong judokas from Japan, Latin America, and the US. I am glad that I proudly represented my country. I dedicate all my successes to Azerbaijan. Long live Azerbaijan, long live Karabakh,” he told local media

This was Zaur’s fourth gold at judo championships held in the US.

On May 16, Zaur Jalil won a gold at the American Judo Championship held in Reno, Nevada. He was competing in the weight category of 73 kg.

Addressing the award ceremony, Jalil that he dedicated his victory to Azerbaijanis and Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region liberated from the Armenian occupation.
