Azerbaijani scholar in Germany Nural Abdullayev has initiated a novel project on surgical treatment of patients with acute ischemic stroke.

Preliminary practical tests have been successfully completed.

Nuran Abdullayev is the chairman of the German-Azerbaijani Radiological and Neuroradiological Society and Doctor of Medical Sciences of the University of Cologne.

Another co-author working on the development of the project is Michael Schönfeld, a German scientist and doctor of medical sciences who works with our compatriot.

This innovation, which will be used to remove blood clots from the brain during ischemic strokes, is the first in the world and is considered a success in the concept of treatment.

The process of patenting a tool to be used in brain surgery in Europe is nearing completion.

Abdullayev and Schönfeld have reached an agreement with a German company to produce the product.

The process of CE certification for the use of the device in all stroke centers in Europe is already underway.
