Azerbaijan said on July 6 that one of its servicemen was injured when Armenian forces opened fired at Baku’s positions in recently-liberated Aghdam region.
The incident occurred at around 17:60 (GMT+4) in Aghdam’s Aliagha settlement.
The ministry said “Armenian illegal armed formations” had fired from Azerbaijani territories where Russian peacekeepers have been stationed.
Wounded serviceman Sakit Dadashov has been given first aid and hospitalized. The soldier was engaged in road improvement work when he was fired at.
The Turkish-Azerbaijani monitoring center has been informed about the incident, the ministry said.
Earlier on the same day, Armenia accused Azerbaijan of firing at its positions and injuring one of its soldiers.
Azerbaijani Defence Ministry denied any cross-border shooting, saying that “if there are any losses or wounded in the Armenian armed forces, it could only happen as a result of an incident that occurred between them.”
