Alfonso Dominges representing Azerbaijan in Tokyo Olympics 2020 secured the country its second bronze medal.
Competing at 81 kg weight category, Dominges bet his opponent Arlen Lopes (Cuba) 5:0.
This was Dominges’ debut in Olympic games.
Four mores boxers representing Azerbaijan – Tayfur Aliyev (57 kg), Cavid Chalabiyev (63 kg), Lorentso Sotomayor (69 kg) and Magomed Abdullayev (+91 kg) – already completed their performances.
Earlier, Judoka Iryna Kindzerska defeated Shiyan Xu from China securing the bronze medal for Azerbaijan’s team.
Team Azerbaijan is represented in Tokyo Olympics 2020 by seven wrestlers, two taekwondo fighters, five boxers, three carate fighters, two swimmers, two athletes in rhythmic gymnastics, a badminton player, a sport shooter, a fencer, a road cycler, a triathlete and a trap shooter.
Tokyo Summer Olympics is held from July 23 to August 8.
