Armenian troops fire at Azerbaijani posts

The Azerbaijani Defence Ministry on July 7 said that Armenia opened fire at Azerbaijani military posts in the border Tovuz region in violation of the last year’s peace agreement that ended the war.

The Armenian units located near Kolagir village, Berd district of Armenia, using small rifles fired at Azerbaijani positions in the direction of Garalar village, Tovuz district of Azerbaijan on nearly 13:40 (GMT +4) July 7, the ministry said.

It added that no Azerbaijani military personnel had been injured or lost and that the operational situation was under Baku’s control.

On the same day, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situation reported fire at the border near Gazakh district’s Aslanbayli, Gaymagly and Farahli villages.

Earlier on July 6, an Azerbaijani serviceman was injured in Armenian fire in Aghdam’s Aliaga village. The fire was opened by Armenian units stationed in the territories where the Russian peacekeeping forces have been stationed in line with the November 10 statement that ended the war over Nagorno-Karabakh.
