Azerbaijan today lifted the ban on weddings, birthday parties and other large events, while imposing a limit of 150 people for such gathering.
The Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers announced the decision in its website on June 22.
Under the new rule, Azerbaijanis residents will be allowed to hold weddings and other large gatherings with the number of people not exceeding 150.
Residents will be required to present COVID-19 passports or a document about coronavirus recovery while attending any such gathering in which the number of participants is over 50.
No COVID-19 passports are required for events where guest number is under 50.
Under the new rule, event participants will not be required to wear face masks, while personal protective equipment will be mandatory for employees (with the exception of musicians) o f such facilities.
Weddings and other large events must be registered at government portal icaze.gov.az that will be activated on June 26.
The new rules will become effective as of July 1 and is the next stage of the easing COVID-19 restrictions in the country.
Azerbaijan started easing the COVID-19 restrictions last month, first lifting face mask mandate and opening Baku metro (May 31) and opening places of worship, large trade centers, beaches, sports and recreational centers (June 10).
The government has allocated $1.1bn from the 2020 budget to fight COVID-19.
