Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Rafik Huseynov today defeated an Armenian athlete, securing a bronze medal at Tokyo Summer Olympic Games 2020.
This brought the number of Azerbaijani team’s medals to three.
Fighting in the 77 kg weight category, Huseynov won a victory over Armenian wrestler Karapet Chalyan with the score of 4:0.
Earlier, Azerbaijani judokas Iryna Kindzerska and boxer Loren Alfonso Dominguez secured their bronze medals as well.
Team Azerbaijan is represented in Tokyo Olympics 2020 by seven wrestlers, two taekwondo fighters, five boxers, three carate fighters, two swimmers, two athletes in rhythmic gymnastics, a badminton player, a sport shooter, a fencer, a road cycler, a triathlete and a trap shooter.
Tokyo Summer Olympics is held from July 23 to August 8.
