Azerbaijan won its first meal at Tokyo Olympics 2020.
Judoka Iryna Kindzerska defeated Shiyan Xu from China securing the bronze medal for Azerbaijan’s team. She is competing in 78+kg weight category.
Kindzerska is among nine judokas representing Azerbaijan in Tokyo.
Team Azerbaijan is also represented by seven wrestlers, two taekwondo fighters, five boxers, three carate fighters, two swimmers, two athletes in rhythmic gymnastics, a badminton player, a sport shooter, a fencer, a road cycler, a triathlete and a trap shooter.
Tokyo Summer Olympics is held from July 23 to August 8.
