Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan exclave came under Armenian fire on August 6.
According to the Defence Ministry, Armenian military positions in the Vedig region, using small arms, opened fire on Azerbaijani positions in Nakhchivan’s Sadarak region.
Azerbaijan stated that there are no casualties among its troops and the attack was responded in response fire.
Armenia has increased its attacks on the Azerbaijani positions on the border in recent weeks. Armenia attacked Azerbaijani positions in Nakhchivan on August 1 and August 2.
Azerbaijan yesterday reported that Armenia fired at its positions on August 4, starting from 14:50 to 00:00 (GMT+4) from Arazdeyen settlement of the Vedi region, Yukhari Shorzha, Azizli, Shishgaya, and Garaiman settlements of the Basarkechar region, the Ardanish settlement of the Chambarak region.
The situation between the two Southern Caucasus republics have been tense despite the signing of November statement that ended the war in autumn 2020.
