Greco-Roman wrestler Parviz Nasibov won a silver medal for Ukraine at the 2020 Summer Olympics being held in Tokyo.
Nasibov (22) who is of Azerbaijani origin, was representing the Ukrainian national team during the Summer Olympics in the 67 kg weight category.
In the final held on August 4, Nasibov lost to Iranian wrestler Gerai Mohammad Reza and became the second in the Olympics.
The winners of bronze medals were Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Sayyed (Egypt) and Frank Shtebler (Germany).
Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games kicked off on July 23 and will last till August 8.
It is Ukraine’s seventh consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics in the post-Soviet era with its smallest representation ever.
