The European Union has added Azerbaijan to the bloc’s approved travel list, in line with a decision by EU ambassadors on June 30.

Along with Azerbaijan, the safe travel list includes ten other countries – Armenia, Bosnia and Herzogovina, Brunei, Canada Jordan, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The bloc last year suspended non-essential travels from non-EU countries due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Six other countries, including the US, made it to the EU’s safe travel list last month.

The safe travel list is non-binding and shows which countries the restrictions must be lifted for. It’s noteworthy that the travel restrictions have not lifted against the UK due to the concerns over the spread of the Delta variation of COVID-19.
