Azerbaijan’s iconic Heydar Aliyev complex in capital Baku reflected the US flag on July 4 to honor the US Independence Day.
The holiday marks the adoption of the Declaration of Independence Day in 1776 that signalled the official separation of the 13 original colonies from Great Britain amid the Revolutionary War.
On July 3, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev phoned Joe Biden to congratulate him on the occasion of the Independence Day.
Aliyev expressed hope that that “the friendly and cooperative relations” between the two countries would continue to develop.
He also invited the US to participate in the reconstruction of Karabakh and welcomed US contribution to forge lasting peace and atmosphere of trust between Azerbaijan and Armenia, based on mutual respect to the territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of borders.
