Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev awarded 69,530 military servicemen for their involvement in the liberation of the country’s Armenian-held territories in the last year’s war.
The relevant presidential decrees were signed on June 24.
The decorated servicemen have been decorated for “courage and bravery” shown in military operations held in Jabrayil, Fuzuli, Kalbajar, Lachin, Aghdam, Zangilan, Khojavand, Gubadli regions, Sugovushan settlement and Shusha city in autumn 2020.
The list of award recipients include dozens of generals, hundreds of colonels and high-ranking servicemen.
The names of the awards are “For Bravery”, “For the sake of Homeland”, “For Distinction in the Battle”, “For Military Service”, “Karabakh”, “Azerbaijani Flag”, “Brave Soldier”, “For the third degree service for Homeland”.
