Baku hosted the 2021 Formula 1 Grand Prix Azerbaijan for the fifth time.
The winners of Formula 1 were awarded on June 6 – on the last day of the race. Sergio Perez representing the Red Bull Racing won the Grand Prix, followed by Sebastian Vettel (Aston Martin) and Pierre Gasly (Scuderia AlphaTauri) who secured second and third places respectively.
The race was held between June 4 and 6 without spectators and any entertainment programmes due to COVID-19.
Ten teams (each consisting of two pilots) competed for gold medal. F1 racing will be held in Azerbaijan until 2024. It should be noted that Formula 1 was not held in 2020 due to COVID-19 and the contract to holt the races was extended until 2024.
The first Azerbaijan Grand Prix winner was Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull.
