Nation’s COVID-19 vaccination exceeds 4M people

The number of residents being vaccinated against COVID-19 hit 4.1 million on July 11, the Operational Headquarters under Azerbaijan’s Cabinet of Ministers has reported.

Azerbaijan started the nationwide vaccination process on January 18.

Some 38, 732 Azerbaijanis received vaccine jabs today while the country registered 156 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. The number of recovered patients was 37 while no coronavirus-related death was registered today.

As of today 337, 254 COVID-19 cases have been registered in the country that has a population of ten million.

Azerbaijan loosened COVID-19 restrictions starting from May 31, lifting the mandate to wear face masks in public places and opening Baku metro. Another stage of lockdown easing entered force on June 10 and implies opening of gyms, recreational centers, beaches, shopping malls and places of worship.
